For the last few months we have been receiving 1-2 spam entries to our Contact Us form that integrates with our Infusionsoft account. Spam submissions covered dating sites, bitcoin, sending money overseas and everything in between (yep that too!).
We tried adding a hidden field, adding re-catpha, but it didn’t stop the spam :(.
It wasn’t until a client came to us who was getting 8-10 entries per day, did we decide that’s it’s probably worthwhile testing out a spam stopping plugin.
The results are in….
Over the last 30 days, we have 58 spam entries stopped to our own Contact Us page – YAAY!
So, what didn’t happen to our delight was:
- These contacts weren’t added to our database
- Contacts were not sent an email (that may have impacted our email deliverability)
- We didn’t get a task notification to follow them up
- We didn’t need to manually delete a contact record from Infusionsoft
And overall, valid leads were still added to the database 🙂
Check out the full story here in our video, including the report that you receive:
The plugin that we’ve used is called SpamKill.
What the plugin does, is it identifies the entry is spam before the contact is entered into Keap/Infusionsoft, therefore only allowing real leads to get added to your database.
Feel free to click the link to use our affiliate link and access the 30 day free trial, you’ve got nothing to lose (only spam entries ;-))!
We only share products/tools that we have either used or a client has used and we know work, so if you’re receiving dodgy entries, check it SpamKill here.
Hope that helps!
