It might not sound like fun, but cleaning up your database is an important activity in your business.
Whether you want to avoid additional contact costs, sending the same person duplicate information on different email addresses, or avoiding having staff not have the complete picture of a contact because the history isn’t visible on the one record.
Infusionsoft offers great functionality to identify potential duplicates, allowing you to view those records and merge them if they are the one person.
In this video, I’ll take you step by step through the process to take to complete an Infusionsoft duplicate check.
Plus I’ll reveal one gotcha to think about if you’re using other apps/integrations that rely on the Infusinosoft ID.
I’ve been asked to complete this activity for business, and I’ll be honest… It does not excite me at all!
Infusionsoft has made it pretty straightforward, and in some cases, it’s very easy to tell if the contact is the same, but in others, it’s the internal business and contact knowledge that will help the staff member identify with certainty whether they are the same person or not.
For example, whether Suzie Bobs at [email protected] is the same person as Suzanne at [email protected].
Remember, this action of merging two contact records together is PERMANENT.
It cannot be undone and rolled back, so be careful!
Make sure you assign this task to someone who has high attention to detail and you trust will be able to complete this activity and not merge the wrong contact records together.
Happy database cleaning!
